We want to give a big shout-out to Gail Kenney of Web Dezyn Plus for creating our brand new modern website which went live today. We are absolutely thrilled with how everything came together over just a couple of months to bring our site up-to-date and in compliance with the new Canadian laws regarding business websites.
We found Web Dezyn Plus on Bark when we started looking for a website designer. After speaking with Gail, we know that she was the one for us. She listened carefully to what we were looking to achieve. Then Gail clearly explained the process in “plain” English without all the technical jargon. We felt that she understood what we needed. She is also Canadian who lives in Orillia, ON and had no difficulty in working with the time difference between us.
The other thing that impressed us about Gail and Web Dezyn Plus was that everything was explained fully with respect to the costs and the contract. There would be no hidden – got-yas! There were things that we had to purchase such has a hosting plan — do you know what that is? We didn’t. Gail explained that every website has to live somewhere and we went with her recommendation for a Canadian hosting company – HostPapa.
The other thing that we didn’t realize is that a website is a living entity and needs to be maintained. Things change so quickly in the digital, on-line world, that if we don’t keep the site up-to-date, it will literally disappear from the search engines. As Gail explained that a neglected website just means that all the work and cost of building it has been wasted. Websites need a Maintenance Plan which includes things like updates, backups, search engine optimization, social media integration, blogging, new content and so much more. Gail is going to be our webmistress going forward. Let’s face it . . . we don’t want to have to keep on top of all the changes in the digital side of the business. Let Gail do it!
