After Your Waxing Appointment
What happens after You Go Home
Post Appointments
Usually 24 – 48 hours for newer waxes, less time for veterans.
Minimizing Discomfort Immediately After:
We recommend a cold compress to decrease the heat and redness that some people experience immediately after waxing. Avoid applying lotions, potions, aloe, creams or ointments on freshly waxed skin to prevent clogging your pores and potentially causing ingrown hairs.
Exfoliate on a Regular Basis:
We recommend a simple dry mitt or exfoliating brush daily for a cost effective and ideal way to keep your skin smooth and ingrown free between waxes. We can recommend a stronger treatment after a quick consultation if necessary.
Avoid Heat and Sweating as Much as Possible:
Yes, you can shower after your wax, but we recommend that you avoid hot baths or hot tubs because your skin may be sensitive to heat. Any physical activities such as gyms, swimming, hot yoga, or bike rides are also not recommended. Sweating can cause more bacteria on the body and with open pores, this can cause irritation, break outs and ingrown hairs. If you must exercise, shower or use a fresh wipe to clean your skin as quickly as possible afterwards.
Privy Time:
After visiting the loo, be kind to your skin and pat dry gently — don’t wipe. Also be sure to stay hydrated because concentrated urine can increase irritation.
